Bono and Motorola’s Red Phone to Save Lives
Tuesday, May 16th, 2006U2’s Bono wants you to buy a red Motorola SLVR cellphone. The sales from the phones are expected to raise hundreds of millions of dollars to fight AIDS in Africa.
Phone maker Motorola has launched a new red edition of its SLVR phone for the U.K. market, tied directly to U2 frontman Bono’s Product Red campaign to combat the AIDS epidemic in Africa.
Kudos to Motorola for actually giving 10 pounds from the sale of each phone to help sick people. And I got to hand it to Bono; he’s really doing a lot of good work to fight AIDS in Africa. Now can someone give him a decent pair of glasses?
