Jude Law

Britain’s Daily Express newspaper is reporting that Jude Law is in talks to play General Zod in the next Superman movie.

“Zod is going to be the main bad guy. Some say they should use an unknown but the director Bryan Singer is looking at Jude. The similarities between him and Stamp are clear.”

Now, I can definitely see Law as General Zod but why the hell are they not bringing in some new characters? Superman Returns was basically the same movie as Superman, just not as good. They really need to make the next one refreshing. What they need to do is bring in a new villain, like Bizarro. Now that would be an exciting movie.

    Darkseid.

  2. Grimmy Says:

Boy oh boy, Brian Singer really knows how to burry a franchise.

Superman Returns was such a let down.

  3. Page Says:

Yeah it might be cool for General Zod but i really agree that they need to make a movie with Doomsday!!! Where superman dies! The sequel to that could be his resurrection! i mean come on people. you know how successfull that movie would be! it makes me want to be a director just thinking about how awesome that movie would be. I wish bryan singer would step it up a notch and make the next movie what everyone wants

  4. joel Says:

no no no; doomsday would be so over the top at this point its silly to even mention it (though of course everyone is thinking it). imagine the budget for a doomsday/death movie, which would – to most movie goers – be nothing more than a sequel to a disappointing sequel? why blow the whole doomsday storyline now if you cant be sure it will be well-received by the audience?

my vote would be for brainiac (managing interesting elite minions of some sort), and an introduction to JLA-friend (i vote for Martian Man-hunter J’onn J’onnz, who superman would have to figure out is not the bad guy trying to kill poor, innocent brainiac) who would help him figure out this weird space genius. or something along those lines.

point is, general zod is sweet, if unoriginal fodder for another movie.

  5. matt Says:

those are good ideas but what i think what would be perfect is to do all that. check it:

    *2006:Superman Returns
-a total blow to revees memory
    *2009:Superman 6
-Superman takes on Bizzaro to save Earth…a great way to make hype for the movie after it and to bring in a ton of money
    *2011:Superman: The End
-Superman vs Doomsday and dies but sets up for the next film
    *2014:The Son of Superman
-Superman’s son comes to save the day from General Zod
    *2017:Superman 9
-Superman’s son battles Brainiac and some how Superman returns to try to save the world or his son.

Thats how the next 10 years should look.

  6. John Says:

What about Superman’s son. Everybody here has forgotten about superman’s son. Everyone wants to complain and say this movie did not have enough action which i find hard to believe. If you are going to reintroduce Superman to the movie screen after 20 years then Brian singer has hit the nail on the head for sure. This movie is touching and gripping and fresh. It has all the elements of great cinema plus it is visually beautiful as a film. The development of his son is very interseting, plus what might happen to richard, lois’ fiance? You see there is so much that can be added to, so give it a chance. Give Singer a ton of credit for embarking on this risk. he knows what he is doing.

  7. Chris Says:

I don’t really care what they do as long as they make some more superman movies because superman kicks ass. He’s the altimate superhero.

  8. Matt Says:

Come on, Singers Superman Returns was horrible! Not only was it nothing we haven’t seen, but to give SuperMan offspring! Who the hell does he think he is bringing in a “thats my boy” theme into it. I cant imagine how horrible its going to be seeing the kid going, “daddy can I go fight crime with you”, give me a break. No new villian, no new plot, nothing new. The closest thing we had to a villian was Lex Luthor shanking Superman with some kryptonite. I think he should stick to X-Men (like those are any better) adn let someone who knows what they’re doing take care of the Man of Steel. And dont get me wrong, I like the new guy who plays Superman, he just needs to get in the gym more so he could look like Superman, and give the role more personality. He needs to loosen up and give Superman AND Clark more personality. Hes like a stiff statue who was tradically born without a personality.

  9. country boy Says:

i would love to see a movie all about krypton and life on the planet before it exploded and superman was sent to earth. that would be pretty cool in my opinion.
