Spike Lee’s Hurricane Katrina documentary When The Levees Broke ran on HBO not too long ago but I missed it. Well, I was lucky enough to find it on the net this past weekend. This is definetly Spike Lee’s best work in a long time (although I really liked 25th Hour). It’s an amazing and important piece of work and I urge you all to check it out while you can; they’ve already taken down the YouTube version and these ones won’t last long either.

The trailer for Mel Gibson’s new movie Apocalypto has hit the net. How does it look? It looks very, very interesting. Not a type of movie you see very often, if ever. It also looks like it’s going to be the creepiest movie you’ll see this year. And the poster for the movie has to be one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. Apocalypto opens December 8.

Here’s Vanessa Minnillo’s new Maxim photoshoot. Now I don’t have to say how amazing Venessa looks. You can obviously see for yourself. What I do have to mention is how much of a lucky guy Nick Lachey is. First Jessica Simpson and now Venessa Minnillo. Lucky might be an understatement.

To celebrate the return of football to the Superdome and aid in the city’s rebuilding, U2 and Green Day will debut their special new benefit single on Monday Night Football.

I’m a big U2 fan so I’m not surprised they’re doing this especially since The Edge’s Music Rising charity fund, which he started after the hurricane, provides relief to New Orleans’ musicians. Green Day though, I’m actually impressed by their involvement. They just don’t sit around and spend all their money on eyeliner like most bands in their genre do. Eyeliner isn’t punk. Playing a benefit gig is.

They’re set to play their cover of The Skids “The Saints Are Coming” and a few other tunes on September 25th.

Our Fall Preview continues with Battlestar Galactica babe, Tricia Helfer. I’ve been told that Battlestar Galactica is one of the best written TV shows on the air but I wouldn’t know. It’s too hard to concentrate on the story when you’re too busy gawking at Tricia. Grace Park doesn’t help matters either. But this season I’ll try and focus more on the story. Unless they both appear in the same scene. At that point, all bets are off.
