Do you think Kazakhstan’s reaction to Borat has been exagerated? Well, if you do, then wait until you read this:

US President George Bush is to host White House talks on British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen.

Cohen, 35, creator of Ali G, has infuriated the Kazakhstan government with his portrayal of Borat, a bumbling Kazakh TV presenter.

President Nazarbayev will visit the White House and the Bush family compound in Maine when he flies in for talks that will include the fictional character Borat.

Ya, that’s what George Bush should be doing with his time. Give me a break. What’s next? The UN will hold talks over Borat?

I was really impressed with the new James Bond trailer but I’m even more impressed now. Eva Green playing Bond Girl Vesper Lynd, is another great move. Choosing a “famous” actress to play a Bond Girl has never worked out well for a 007 movie. Halle Berry anyone? So I was happy to see an “under the radar” actress like Eva Green get the part. Looks like this franchise is heading in the right direction. About time.

I’m a huge Smallville fan and I’m not embarrassed to admit it. Why do I like Smallville? Well, for starters, it’s Superman. Second, you get to see Kristin Kreuk, Erica Durance and Allison Mack every week. You know what else makes Smallville great? It has more action in one episode than Superman Returns had in the whole movie. I’m a little disappointed that there are only 26 but the list is packed with a bunch of great games (Ninja Gaiden!) and I’m sure they’ll release another 26 in no time. Although, I’ll be extremely upset if they don’t offer NHL Hockey 94, the best hockey video game ever, in the second batch.

Here’s the new Flags of our Fathers trailer. I was impressed with the previous Japanese language trailer and this one is even better. I’ve been waiting a long time for a Clint Eastwood directed war movie and by the looks of the trailer, I won’t be disappointed. And if anyone can turn Ryan Phillippe into a decent (or even good) actor, it’s Clint Eastwood.

How funny is Borat? He arrived at the Toronto Film Festival this past Thursday in an ox-cart pulled by several women to blaring Kazakh music. Unfortunately, the projector breaking 20 minutes into the screening of Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan wasn’t very funny. Michael Moore, who was there as a guest, tried to fix the projector but to no avail. Thankfully, the night wasn’t a total loss. Borat came out for a Q & A in which he was hilarious. Every time I watch a Scare Tactics clip, I’m more and more impressed with how cruel their pranks are. They had to cut this one short because the prank victim was going to either pass out or vomit. Or both. Now that’s entertainment!
