Spider-Man 3 Test Footage of Venom?

There’s a rumour going around that this video is official CG test footage of Venom for Spider-Man 3. I know studios like to test their CG characters in all sorts of weird motions, but I’m a little sceptical. Venom does look cool though. And drunk.

Curious footage indeed - perhaps he’s been modelled on someone just flailing about in order to test all angles and motion movement. Could be a fellow animator is the basis for this animation.

i saw this on a website called cgtalk a while ago and its not from any movie tests although it is quite good. the guy just modeled, textured and rigged this guy to mocap and then made this with somebody dancing to some music
