Interviewer Confuses John Cusack with Kevin Spacey!?

If there is one way you shouldn’t start an interview, this is it. Some interviewer sits down for a talk with John Cusack and starts telling him how funny it is that she just saw him in American Beauty… which she had to watch for film class. Bwahahaha! Kudos to Cusack for playing it cool and not going all diva on her like I would have.

Strikes me as a deliberate gaffe, an attempt to rile Cusack up.
The best part, besides her confusing John Cusack with Kevin Spacey, is how she keeps trying to give him the opportunity to realize his mistake and admit that he was in the film. “Really?” “You weren’t in that?” “Really?” “Are you sure?” “What was the one with the rose petals? You weren’t in that?”
Maybe she should spend a little more time in all of her classes, not just film class.
And yes, this makes me like John Cusack even more. He takes it in stride, agreeing with her when she admits she “may be” mistaken, but not hammering her for it.

I always thought they looked alike - especially since Cusack is older. BUT it’s like Cusack is Spacey’s younger brother. Geesh, confusing them for the same PERSON!??! Too funny.
How embarrassing. When I was at USC we kinda knew who was who and what was what. Especially with the bigger and better actors. What a waste of an opportunity to talk to Cusack.
