Max Payne Movie Trailer
July 10th, 2008Here’s the trailer for the long-awaited Max Payne movie starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. I remember playing this game years ago and liking it but the thought that it would make a great movie never crossed my mind. Well, I’m glad somebody thought it would because it actually looks badass. Max Payne hits theatres October 17th.

well, if my mind isn’t just making conclusions, and they really did keep true to the game, than this will be just as good as the game, with the shoot-dodge and the film noir atmosphere with the gravel voiced narrative overlay. and for the love of god, i hope they took there time with the story, the easiest way to kill a movie is to rush the plot.

I think it’s safe to say this is probably gonna be the best video game to movie so far with the possible exception of the Resident Evil series, but then again, not a lot of competition…(i’m looking at you “doom”)

From what I’ve picked up, they’re concentrating on key elements. The noir atmosphere is at the top of the line, they forced everyone in the production to watch several John Woo films before even beginning this. The storm is also up there. They’ve got it at the top, knowing that it gives a specific atmosphere to the story. The storm was a big deal in the game. How it was always snowing. And the poetic narration. It won’t be narrated, but they hope to carry it into the dialogue a bit, hopefully effectively. I’m thinking this might do for the video game to movie franchise what Batman Begins and X-men did for the comic book franchise.
