So it looks like it’s official. Rose McGowan showed up at the San Diego Comic-Con along with boyfriend/filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and confirmed that she really is going to be playing Red Sonja. Umm, does anyone even care? I sure as hell wouldn’t normally care for a Red Sonja movie, but I’ve always liked Rose McGowan, even when she was deranged and dating Marilyn Manson, so seeing her in a chainmail bikini for an entire film and swinging a sword is definitely on my to do list. Finally, a straightforward Jim Carrey comedy! The last time we saw Jim Carrey in a comedy that was actually funny was Bruce Almighty back in ’03, so I’m definitely up for Yes Man. The movie looks good but is it just me or does Carrey look really old? Whatever, I still think he’s the best comedic actor today. Yes Man hits theatres December 13th, 2008.
