X-Men Origins: Wolverine TV Spot #1
February 16th, 2009The Wolverine movie is still a couple of months away, but that’s not stopping the studio from releasing a trio of TV spots (i.e. commercials) these next couple of days. The first one has already been released and it’s called “Outcasts”, and I gotta tell you, I’m not a fan of the idea that Wolverine was born with his claws. I think it’s ridiculous and it’s one of the reasons why I stopped reading X-Men comicbooks years ago. Hopefully they’re just going to focus on it for a quick flashback scene and that’s all. X-Men Origins: Wolverine hits theatres May 1st, 2009.

The Adamantium was bonded to his bones. So it was pretty obvious he had the claws before the weapon x experiment. Why don’t you like that?

Yeah Jamal is right, if he wasnt born with claw he could not have been consider as a mutant… so thats make sense

First off, Wolverine’s mutant power isn’t his claws, it’s his healing factor and super senses. The adamantium claws were given to him by the Weapon X program, which they mentioned about a million times in the comics. That’s how it was for about 25 years in the comicbooks.
Then, in the 90’s, Marvel decided to strip him of his adamantium and only then did they introduce the bone claws. Basically, he was boring as hell without claws. Forced and contrived to say the least. Oh, and really, really stupid.

If i can let my inner fanboy come out here for a minute and say the whole “bone claws” thing was one of the lamest things i remember Marvel doing in long while, it’s surprising that they would take that storyline for the movie. Add to that the on set pics of a rather short and chunky looking Sabertooth and my hopes are sinking fast..
