I’m not sure if it’s because I grew up watching Star Trek: The Next Generation, but last night’s Family Guy, which featured the entire ST: TNG cast, was awesome. And saying “Family Guy” and “awesome” in the same sentence is a huge deal for me because I find the show more irritating than a hemorrhoid flare-up. Well it’s about damn time! I’ve been anticipating a trailer for Spike Jonze’s Where The Wild Things Are ever since the movie was first announced years ago. Has it been worth the wait? Hell. Yeah. This is by far the best, most impressive movie trailer I’ve seen since the first Transformers trailer hit. It’s incredible. And kudos to whoever decided that an acoustic version of Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” would match perfectly with the visuals. Where The Wild Things Are hits theatres October 16, 2009. Can’t wait!

When I read the title for Sony Pictures Animation’s newest movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, I thought it was going to be the most ridiculous thing since Harry and the Hendersons. Well, after checking out the trailer, I can safely say that it is totally ridiculous! But it’s also visually incredible and looks like a fun ride. The part with the giant Jell-O statue has some of the best animation I’ve seen, and cheeseburgers raining from the sky have never looked more yummy. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs lands into theatres September 18th 2009.

Paramount and DreamWorks are forging ahead with “Transformers 3,” dating the movie for release on July 1, 2011.

No deals have been inked with director Michael Bay or franchise stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. Nor has a writer been hired for the third installment.
