Here’s the photo we’ve all been waiting for… the first official shot of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman from The Dark Knight Rises! Actually, the photo is officially named “Selina Kyle”, but c’mon, that’s Catwoman. Anyways, she looks pretty damn good… well, except for that stupid looking techy mask, but I have a feeling that they’re saving the entire mask/funky goggles for the next trailer. After many, many months of speculation and rumor, Warner Bros. officially announced today who would be playing Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming The Dark Knight Rises, and it’s none other that uber hottie Anne Hathaway. Woohoo! Here’s the skinny:

LOS ANGELES—Warner Bros. Pictures announced Wednesday that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises.” She will be starring alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story,” Nolan said.

In addition, Tom Hardy has been set to play Bane. Nolan said, “I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.”(Source)

First off, Tom Hardy as Bane? Meh, not bad. Hardy is a great actor, and I’m sure Nolan will give the character a twist and make him cool/contemporary. Second, I’m happy as a pig in $#!! that Anne Hathaway has been cast, but did you guys notice how they announced that Anne would be playing “Selina Kyle”… and not “Catwoman”? Does this mean that Nolan is planning on keeping Anne out of the leather outfit? That would just be crazy, right? Especially considering how freaking sexy this babe is. Anyways, fantastic choice.
