After months of rumours and speculation, it looks like the Justice League of America movie finally has its Wonder Woman. Our buddies over at AICN are reporting with certainty that Australian model Megan Gale has been cast as Wonder Woman:

That’s Megan Gale, an Australian Supermodel… And I’m here to say that I’ve had multiple independent sources within Warner Bros and unnamed agencies confirm this casting. That is Wonder Woman and I think it’s a pretty great choice, aesthetically speaking.

First off, with all due respect to Quint, I’m not going to believe anything until the studio makes an official announcement (then again I still don’t believe Adam Brody is playing The Flash!), and second, I’m a little surprised they would go with a relatively unknown model for the role instead of a fan-favorite like Jessica Biel or Sophia Bush. Having said all that that, she sure looks like a Wonder Woman (more so in the top picture than the rest). What do you guys think?

At this point, we’ve seen a handful of Joker shots from the Dark Knight, all of them impressive, but this shot here from Empire magazine is just fantastic. He looks menacing and creepy as hell. When it was announced that Heath Ledger would be playing the Joker, I didn’t think it would be a good fit at all, but now I’m eating my words. Absolutely perfect. (Source)

Being a huge fan of Batman Begins, I try to post whatever I can when it comes to its sequel, The Dark Knight. Here’s a short video on the IMAX filming of the movie. Now it isn’t much, but you do get to see a few cool things like Batman plunging down into an ally, which is what he does best, right?

If the last Iron Man trailer had you excited, then you’ll definitely want to check out this new international version which boasts some new scenes, including a few with Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. I cannot wait for this flick, it looks amazing! Honestly, I would check it out even if the Iron Man armour wasn’t in the film, just as long as Downey played Tony Stark. Yup, he’s that good.

Wow, I wasn’t expecting the Wanted trailer to hit so soon, especially after yesterday’s photo post, but it’s officially released and it looks great (and so does Angelina Jolie). It could have looked amazing if they stuck to the comic, but it looks like they went a different route with the flick. Still, it looks pretty cool. Wanted hits theatres March 28th, 2008.

The first official photos from Wanted have hit the net, and they are such a tease. The movie is based on one of my favourite comics (by Mark Millar and JG Jones) and if it is anything like the comic, it will be insane. But judging by the pictures… quite different. I’m a little worried but totally stoked, and hey, it can’t be bad if we get to stare at Angelina Jolie for an hour and a half. We’ll find out later on this week exactly how good it looks when the trailer hits.

Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series has been named the sexiest female superhero of all time in a recent poll conducted to coincide with the release of the FF2: Rise of The Silver Surfer DVD. Here’s what the top 5 looks like:

Honestly, this wasn’t even a contest (yes, even with Jessica Alba in the mix). Angelina Jolie is by far the sexiest woman on the planet, let alone the sexiest superhero. This poll could have been in search of the sexiest plumber in the world, sexiest traffic cop, sexiest song… Angelina Jolie would still top them all.

The rumours around who’s going to be playing Wonder Woman are back in the headlines, and once again, Jessica Biel is in the running. Although this time, it isn’t for the Wonder Woman movie, but for the live action Justice League movie.

Jessica Biel is in talks to lasso up as Wonder Woman in Warner Bros.’ all-star superhero film “Justice League of America.”
Potential deal marks the first piece of casting to emerge from the DC Comics-based ensemble project, which is expected to feature Superman, Batman, the Flash and Aquaman in addition to Wonder Woman.

The studio declined comment, saying that it prefers to announce an entire cast rather than piecemeal deals. (Source)

This is pretty much your generic rumour, but the fact that the Justice League movie is moving along quickly might add some truth to it. Now if they do decide to go with Biel for the role, I would consider it perfect casting. Out of all the actresses rumoured for the part, Biel has the perfect body type for Wonder Woman (yes, Wonder Woman isn’t a twig; she has a bit of muscle on her). And seriously, who doesn’t want to see her in that that famous tiara?

The official Iron Man Trailer has been released and it looks awesome! It’s essentially the same trailer as the one leaked from San Diego last month but the video quality is obviously as crispy as can be. I’m betting this is going to be Marvel’s biggest movie yet when it opens next summer thanks to some pretty amazing special effects with the Iron Man suit and Robert Downey Jr’s cool portrayal as Tony Stark/Iron Man.

It looks like Scarlett Johansson is about to join Samuel L. Jackson on Frank Miller’s The Spirit movie, which is based on Will Eisner’s famous comicbook. Here’s the skinny:

For “Spirit,” Miller’s adaptation of the classic Eisner film noir comic strip series, Johansson is in final negotiations to play a dangerous beauty named Silken Floss. Eisner’s strip was known for its women with dangerous curves, and Miller is intent on keeping that tradition. (Source)

It sounds like a great role, but to tell you the truth, I would have liked to have seen Scarlett in Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s next Sin City instalment (for obvious reasons). Still, I’m not going to complain. I’ve always wanted to see Scarlett in a comicbook movie, and I’m sure Frank Miller is going to do everything he can to have Scarlett looking as sexy as can be.
