First Official Joker Picture

Joker Dark Knight

The first official photo of Heath Ledger as the Joker from the upcoming Batman Begins sequel has finally been released. The picture was revealed, pixel by pixel, at the Joker’s vandalized Harvey Dent campaign site (here is the original one), after enough people entered their e-mail addresses and special code.

So what do I think of the Joker’s new look? I love it. I really like how his huge grin comes from the grotesque scar he has from cheek to cheek. The updated look fits perfectly with the more realistic take on the characters from the first film. Well done.

Spider-Man

I’m not posting this wacky video of Spider-Man from the 70’s TV show The Electric Company because it’s so bad that it’s funny. Well, yes I am, but I’m also posting it for the shocking appearance by Morgan Freeman, who it turns out, was a regular on the show. Check it.

Spider-Man

This has to be my favorite commercial running on TV at the moment. Something about congratulating the new roommate by shooting webs at him just cracks me up. And is it just me or is that comedian Zach Galifianakis as the Spidey freak?

Spider-Man 3 Breaks Box Office Records

Monday, May 7th, 2007

Spider-Man 3

Spider-Man 3 took in an estimated $151.1 million over the weekend to break the record for the biggest opening ever (previously held by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest with $135.6 million). Spidey also broke the single day box office record with $59.3 million (again previously held by Pirates 2 with $55.8 million). So with the movie taking in such a huge amount of money, it’s not surprising that Sony confirmed earlier today that they are going to continue the Spider-Man franchise.

Webbed superhero Spider-Man will appear in at least three more movies, Sony Pictures has confirmed. The studio’s chief executive Michael Lynton said after the box office success of the latest release Spider-Man 3, there is a huge audience waiting to see the story continue.

Iron Man

Here it is everyone, the first picture of Iron Man. And it looks perfect. I posted a shot of the first Iron Man armour that Robert Downey Jr. will also be wearing in the film, but this is going to be his main suit. I think this is the first time that I’m actually impressed with a costume design for a superhero movie. Can’t wait to see it in action.

Fantastic Four 2

I wasn’t a big fan of the first Fantastic Four movie, but I was impressed with the first trailer for the sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer. But I’m even more impressed with this new trailer. Now this is the Fantastic Four movie people have been waiting for! The action scenes look great, and the Silver Surfer looks cool (and will probably steal the movie). Oh ya, a blonde, blue eyed Jessica Alba is also pretty impressive.

Superfriends

No, this isn’t one of Robert Smigel’s TV Funhouse cartoons. This is an actual, un-edited fight scene from the Superfriends cartoon. I can’t believe I actually liked this show as a kid. The characters just stand around and announce their next plan of action. Someone actually got paid to write this?
