Robin Williams has died. He was 63. Here’s the official word from Entertainment Weekly:
Oscar winner and comedian Robin Williams died this morning at 63. While his publicist wouldn’t confirm that his death was a suicide, a rep did issue this statement. “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”
No other entertainer has made me laugh more than Robin Williams. It’s as simple as that. He was pure joy to watch and to listen to. Hands down the quickest wit of any comedian. He could turn anything into a funny joke. Any word, any sound, any object…
He was the very first comedian I discovered, and he was my favourite comedian without a doubt. And he was responsible for many, many treasured family moments and memories.
One of the best actors.
The best at improv comedy.
The best late night talk show guest.
The best guest on any show period (Inside The Actor’s Studio, The Oscars)
The best.
This one hurts.
Rest in peace nanu nanu.
