It looks like we won’t be seeing Scarlett Johansson kicking ass as Natasha Romanoff for at least a couple of months. Disney has officially delayed the release of Marvel’s Black Widow. Here’s the skinny:
The Marvel movie was set to hit theaters in North America on May 1.
Disney is pushing the release of Marvel standalone Black Widow amid growing concerns around the coronavirus.
Movie theaters are rapidly closing across the United States, especially in areas where cases of COVID-19 are proliferating. On Monday, Regal Cinemas and AMC Theaters, two of the nation’s biggest theater chains alongside Cinemark, said all theaters will shut indefinitely. AMC said the closure could be between six to 12 weeks, severely impacting the film business and box office. (source The Hollywood Reporter)
Black Widow was one of the few movies I was excited about seeing this year. I’m a Marvel zombie, and a massive fan of the Marvel flicks and Scarlett Johansson (as you guys painfully know) and the trailers all looked awesome. But this was totally expected and totally understandable. And to be honest, I wouldn’t have gone to the theater to see it on May 1st. Not even wearing the Taskmaster’s high tech mask. Oh well, what’s a couple more months, eh? Until then… enjoy the red hot new Black Widow poster above and the bonus galleries below to get your Scarlett Johansson fix!
